Welcome to my Practice

Dr. Kleinman is a Board Certified General and Forensic Psychiatrist and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.  Her primary responsibility is to the clinical care of patients in her private practice in the Washington DC area.  She is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Maryland and Virginia. 

She has strong experience in the treatment of all general psychiatric disorders, with particular interest in Mood Disorders (including clinical depression and bipolar disorder), Anxiety and Panic Disorders, and Personality Disorders.  She is experienced in the use of psychotherapy with and without medication.

She is a graduate of Northwestern University, and the George Washington University Medical School.  She completed her Internship and Residency in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland Hospital.

 She is a graduate of the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis.  She is a Past President of the Washington Psychiatric Society,  the Suburban Maryland Psychiatric Society, and the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.

Dr. Kleinman is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Washington Psychiatric Society, and the Suburban Maryland Psychiatric Society.  She is also a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.

Dr. Kleinman is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the George Washington School of Medicine, and a Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.

She also has a strong background in Forensic Psychiatry, having a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and worked at Maryland's forensic hospital, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.
